Magnesium deficiency…

By Shabath Mineral Wellness

Feeling run down, stiff, or just can’t sleep well? It’s not because you’re getting older, you could be magnesium deficient. This single mineral is responsible for over 300 biochemical reactions in the body.
Yet 68% of Americans are well below the recommended daily intake.
Without it, you can not transmit nerve impulses, or move calcium from your tissues to your bones. If magnesium is not there to move the calcium to these crucial places, the calcium can get stuck in bronchial tubes and cause asthma. Calcium can also get stuck in your arteries causing plaque.
Applying magnesium to the skin, “transdermally” has the highest rate of absorption and proper assimilation of magnesium for your body.
Salt caves provide dry salt aerosol that contain this mineral as well as 83 other essential minerals.
Soaking in a warm tub with certified salts can help.
Dead Sea salts and Himalayan Bath Salts both provide essential magnesium, and are available here. Or we also like to use topical magnesium lotion.

Having Surgery???

By Shabath Mineral Wellness

Are you or someone you love having surgery?

Did you know that general anesthesia can cause respiratory depression, pneumonia, hypothermia, pain, backache, and headache to name a few.

However, anesthesia is necessary to maintain a humane way to operate.

A hospital in Poland knows all this, which is why both their pre-op and post-op units are built right into the salt mine.

Halotherapy or HT can help clear the lungs of anesthetic gases as well as any fluid that may accumulate in the lung. Clearing the lung as soon as possible post-op can greatly reduce the risk of post-operative pneumonia.

Anesthesia also reduces the body’s core temperature ( hypothermia), and if not raised back to normal promptly can reduce your body’s natural immune system function. This leaves the patient more vulnerable to picking up colds, viruses, and bacterial infections.

Anesthesia can also cause pain, headache, and backache. Thermotherapy can help all of these side effects by raising core temperature back to normal as well as alleviate pain. Infrared is a great tool to help promote faster healing.

So if surgery is needed, remember that Shâbath can help you to Rejuvenate much faster!

State of the Air 2014 – Franklin County and surrounding areas

By Shabath Mineral Wellness

Recent State of the Air 2014 findings published by the American Lung Association showed that several counties locally did not fare well, while others showed improvement.

Pennsylvania County findings,
Franklin – B for high ozone days, do not test for particle pollution
Cumberland – do not test for high ozone days, F for particle pollution
Adams – C for high ozone days, C for particle pollution
Fulton – does not currently test for either

Washington County, Maryland – F for high ozone days, C for particle pollution

Who’s at risk from ozone and particle pollution levels?

Particle pollution:
Anyone who lives where particle pollution levels are high is at risk. Some people face higher risk, however. People at the greatest risk from particle pollution exposure include:

Infants, children and teens;
People over 65 years of age;
People with lung disease such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), which includes chronic bronchitis and emphysema;
People with heart disease or diabetes;
and
People who work or are active outdoors.

Diabetics face increased risk at least in part because of their higher risk for cardiovascular disease. A 2010 study examined prevalence of diagnosed diabetes in relation to fine particle pollution in 2004-2005. The evidence suggested that air pollution is a risk factor for diabetes.

Ozone pollution:
Anyone who spends time outdoors where ozone pollution levels are high may be at risk. Five groups of people are especially vulnerable to the effects of breathing ozone:

children and teens;
anyone 65 and older;
people who work or exercise outdoors;
people with existing lung diseases, such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (also known as COPD, which includes emphysema and chronic bronchitis);
people with cardiovascular disease.

The impact on your health can depend on many factors, however. For example, the risks would be greater if ozone levels are higher, if you are breathing faster because you’re working outdoors or if you spend more time outdoors.

1 in 4 children in the nation suffers from asthma, allergies, autism, and ADHD linked to air pollution as shared by the Moms Clean Air Force during their Mama Summit. This also highlights the need to detoxify the body and airways of toxins, pollutants, and irritants.
