We believe that we are created by God, redeemed by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross and are temples for the Holy Spirit to dwell. Matthew 5:13 states, “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.” Spiritual meanings of salt in the Bible refer to salt as being a necessity of life and was used quite often as a seasoning, a preservative, a disinfectant, and as a unit of exchange. How does this relate to our modern world? Our bodies are temples for the Holy Spirit, we should do all we can to keep our temples as clean and functioning as best we can; but life happens. Our world is contaminated spiritually and physically. We fight our spiritual battles daily to keep our spirits healthy, we attend church to worship and learn how to deal with our soul wounds. Clogged and toxic organs create unhappy people, unhappy people create discord. Detoxifying our bodies constantly to keep the contaminants from pesticides, chemicals from our water, air and our food supply from clogging our temples, keeps us functioning much better, much healthier and gives us the ability to keep being The Salt of the Earth.
For years, our family had to deal with misdiagnosis after misdiagnosis, surgeries and serious health issues like Lyme disease, thyroid disease, asthma, eczema, Celiac disease, and cancer. During these years, we have had to learn to research and fight mainstream medicine to get proper diagnosis and treatment. We have talked to many people over the years, and much to our dismay their own stories echo ours. We have also met doctors who are wonderful, who do treat the cause, not just the symptom. These doctors led us to the road of natural, complementary, and alternative medicines. Alternative therapies help to get a body back to a healthier state, not mask a symptom and make new problems, or hand out pill after pill creating more issues.
We are but a tiny part of His story…
Shabath was born out of a answer to prayer.
After numerous very serious health issues, and job loss due to health issues, I could see it all beginning to happen again, my husband Frank, was going down that slippery slope of not being well again. After going to God with it again and again, the one day I was given a download, an answer to my prayers-(Shabath). I told Frank that he needed to quit his job, that we just needed to take that leap of faith. When we did, God showed up and fast. Everything just fell in to place. There were definite bumps in the road but they were handled like only God can do.
That summer Frank and I traded places, he got to stay home with the children while I got to accomplish one of my dreams, designing and building our business. We had some help from some really good local contractors and help from my family. We had a great time building and running our business together. It was a life goal that we shared and accomplished together. Frank seemed to be slightly better for a little while, but it didn’t last that awful long. Back came the health issues and back we went to the numerous hospitals, and doctors. Always the same response, meds, medication side effects, no answers, more big bills. Fast forward to 2018. Things were very obviously getting much worse with no improvement in site.
After numerous more hospital stays and countless visits to doctors up and down the east coast, he passed on June 7 from cancer. Doctors had missed it, their answer had always been Crohn’s and Celiac, they never looked further. He didn’t tell his clients at all, or even us for quite a while. He loved our family and our clients dearly. He didn’t want to upset anyone talking about his problems. He was a very strong and private man. He always carried himself with grace and dignity, and he wanted to graduate on to heaven in the same manner.
Shabath has been a bigger answer to prayer than originally thought, God has had His hand on us the whole time throughout this entire process. He amazes the children and myself. The love and support that we receive from our family, friends, community and family of clients is such a blessing that words can’t even begin to express. We don’t understand God’s plan for our family at all, most days we are still not liking the plan much at all either, but we trust the Lord, and will continue to Faith It Till We Make It, and we hope to see you on this journey.
